Tranquillity and Serenity @ Energy Day Spa
by: Sophia

A trip to Energy Day Spa is exactly the place to visit if you’re looking to get away from all the tension of daily life. Snugly located amidst the towering condominiums of Mont Kiara, it is a safe haven away from the commotion that plagues the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The friendly staff awaits your arrival at the modest reception area. It is here that you’ll realize that it is not the size and the grandeur of the entrance that counts, it is the charming service that makes the difference. After registering, you’ll be given a key to a locker. Yes, lockers are provided but don’t expect a large changing room with lockers and shower stalls by the rows. Just like the reception area, the changing rooms are just there to serve its purpose. Toiletries such as shampoo, cotton buds and a hair dryer is available for your use.

What lies beyond the doors of the changing room is the most important part. A spacious balcony that goes around the building is lined with comfortable deck chairs and potted plants. The atmosphere is one that is relaxed and serene and it is as if those deck chairs are calling out your name. This area serves as a waiting area or if you’d just like to stretch out and enjoy the deafening silence, this would be the perfect place. Just bear in mind that in some cases, you’ll be disturbed by the sounds of children playing at the pool of the condo next door.

The rooms are fairly small but who needs space when you’re just lying down while being pampered from head to toe. The dim lights make it hard to notice much around you and it will also set you in the mood. Its hard to be pampered fully dressed so be prepared to bare almost all. Everything that you would possibly need would be at your fingertips such as towels, bath robes, disposable underwear’s and shower caps.

The menu is as extensive as it can possibly get. The most popular items would probably be the facial and body treatments. The beauty of Energy Day Spa is that their treatments are very specialized. The facial menu includes treatments for blemishes, scars, pigmentation and many more. Body treatments don’t stray very far from the norm but there are some pretty impressive items on the menu such as the Balneotherapy Bath. The Balneotherapy Bath is a Jacuzzi like treatment that helps to detoxify the body. One of the notable treatments would be the hot stone massage which costs RM160 for one hour. Volcanic rocks are heated up and then used to rub you up and down, left and right and in circular motions as well. Not only does it cleanse your body from toxins, it also feels extremely good as well. In addition to all that, waxing is also an option for those who are interested in getting rid of unwanted body or facial hair.

The great part about Energy Day Spa is that it really is a “day spa”. After or in between treatments, you’ll be led to the balcony where you can just take a moment and relax. You won’t be restricted to just being in a room with four walls. It’s a place where you can spend the entire day being pampered. The staff and therapists are very attentive, polite and informative. They are quick to see to your needs as well as to answer your queries. Prices might be a bit on the high side but for such a tranquil atmosphere and top notch service, it’s definitely worth it. A standard relaxation therapy massage would cost RM138 for an hour where else a Detox Facial Treatment goes for about RM180 for 1 hour 15 minutes.
